The Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy was established in March 2020, with a threefold mandate:

Design and Implementation of National Digital Policy and Strategy

Design, Coordination, and Implementation of the National Policy and Strategy for Research & Innovation

Design and Implementation of an Integrated Cybersecurity Strategic Policy Framework

Our goal is to transition to a modern, digital state, through which we enhance the growth prospects and competitiveness of the Cypriot economy, and facilitate and improve the daily life of citizens.

Our vision is to strengthen Cyprus’ posture as a regional hub for innovation and technology.

Strategic Objectives:

  • Digital transformation: To build a strong digital ecosystem by investing in e-government, upgrading connectivity, enhancing digital skills, and promoting the digital transformation of businesses.

  • Shielding the country’s infrastructure: To protect Cyprus’ (critical) network and information infrastructure, while enhancing cybersecurity in industry businesses and raising cyber awareness within society.

Dear delegates,

In light of the latest developments and as a precautionary measure, the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026 has decided to postpone this week’s Presidency Conference Advancement of Treatments for Rare Diseases, scheduled to take place in Cyprus 5–6 March 2026.

Further information regarding possible re-arrangement and new dates will be communicated in due course.
